Society of Dermatology Skin Care SDSC Annual Meeting
Society of Dermatology Skin Care Specialists 9th annual meeting was held at the Inn on Bourbon in New Orleans, LA February 7th & 8th 2011.
The SDSS is a voluntary, organization which aims to develop and foster the highest standards of skin care in the dermatology setting.
Mary Ann Urban and Luann Pomeroy with Avante Laser & MediSpa joined Estheticians from across the country to hear presentations from leaders in the Skin Care Industry including Dr. James Fulton, a world renowned Dermatologist who was instrumental in the original formulation of Retinoic Acid (retin-A).
Topics were presented on the most up to date treatments and products in Professional Skin Care to maintain healthy skin and to correct skin conditions caused by Acne, Sun Exposure and Chronic Inflammation.
Luann Pomeroy & Mary Ann Urban are Licensed Estheticians with Avante Laser & MediSpa and have been providing Professional Skin Care in the Woodlands, Texas for over 20 years.

Mary Ann Urban with Avante Laser & MediSpa attended the American Electrology Association (AEA) annual Convention October 8 – 10, 2010.
Electrologists, permanent hair removal practitioners, gathered in National Harbor, Maryland, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center on October 8-10, 2010 for the largest annual gathering of electrology professionals from all over the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia. This year the convention focused on helping electrologists improve client services by improving themselves, their skills and their practices. Attendees heard expert speakers discuss a wide range of topics including safe work practices, client education, hormonal factors, stress management techniques, lighting and magnification, and professional ethics.
In addition to the fine lectures, Mary Ann Urban was able to check out new equipment and products at the Exhibitors’ Showcase.
