Avante Laser & MediSpa expands with addition of a Professional Laser Training Institute

Avante Laser & MediSpa has recently expanded with the addition of a professional laser training institute for laser hair removal specialists.

Located at 9191 Pinecroft Drive, Avante has expanded their location to a total of 4,500 square feet to accommodate the Avante Laser Training Institute.

Avante owners Stacey Upchurch and Mary Ann Urban say the opening of their training facility underscores their commitment toward the promotion of properly trained and educated laser specialists.

According to Upchurch, the Avante Laser Training Institute is one of the only training facilities for laser hair removal in the state of Texas.

Yvonne Jungwirth, Certified Laser Specialist, serves as Avante's training specialist and she oversees the design and development of the training curriculum. She obtained her professional certification five years ago, and has been a part of the Avante team for the past six years.

The institute is currently providing professional training to students who wish to become a Laser Specialist. Student rates for laser hair removal treatments are available through Avante Laser Training Institute on a limited basis.

Urban explained, "We finally have the opportunity to share our skills and knowledge, and we have the staff in place to provide the highest level of quality training. This is an exciting time for us, and we have already completed three training classes and have our next class scheduled for May."

In addition to training for laser hair removal, the owners are planning to expand their training and education offerings to include various medical spa procedures and services.

Upchurch and Urban have each earned the Certified Laser Technician (CLT), Certified Laser Specialist (CLS), and Certified Laser Hair Removal Professional (CLHRP) designations, which are the highest credentials for laser hair removal in the state of Texas. Urban is a Licensed Esthetician, while Upchurch has secured the Certified Medical Laser Safety Officer (CMLSO) credentials. They are both members of the Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal (SCMHR), and hold membership with the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). Upchurch and Urban are board members of the Texas Association for Cosmetic Laser Education and Regulation (TACLER), an organization working for legislation to regulate the laser hair removal industry.

Together, with their team at Avante, they have performed more laser hair removal treatments than anyone in the Houston or surrounding areas.
